Curator for ”Their Thresholds” at Chicago Therapy Collective for Andersonville Arts Weekend!
Queerness is never still. It moves, resists, and redefines the spaces it touches — from bodies and homes to borders, communities, and culture at large. This exhibition brings together queer and trans artists whose practices exist in that liminal zone: crossing and re-crossing boundaries, holding contradictions, and refusing erasure.
At a time when our pronouns, identities, and very lives are politicized, Their Thresholds insists on presence. It reflects on how queer people create permanence in places that were never built for us — through chosen family, through language, through art — and how our existence leaves permanent marks of resistance and care. Each work becomes both an offering and a crossing, a reminder that we cannot be unwritten. Together, these artists create a threshold of their own: a space to gather, to imagine, and to insist on being.
